Aparna Singh has obtained the degrees of B.A., LL.B, LL.M. from the University of Lucknow. She has been awarded Ph. D. in Law from Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar (Central) University Lucknow. She has qualified UGC NET in December 2008 & June 2010, and has been a recipient of a Gold Medal for Land Laws, Gold Medal for Civil Procedure Code, and Gold Medal for being the best student of Labour Laws for her LL.B. examinations. As a meritorious scholar, she bagged Pratibha Samman in the year 2001-02 (ISC, New Delhi).
She has two book to her credit- Right to Information (New Delhi: Bookshelf), Right to Self- Incrimination and Narco-Analysis (Jaipur:Yking) and commendably contributed to Encyclopaedia, and magazines. In addition to this, she has published various research papers in edited volumes and journals of repute, and has participated & presented papers in several National and International Seminars/ Conferences/Workshops. She has been trained in International Humanitarian Law.
She has delivered special lectures in training programmes and workshops as Resource Person, and has been counseling the students enrolled in different programmes of IGNOU from 2010. She is in the Expert Panel of Gyanvani FM Channel 105.6 MHz, All India Radio, Prasar Bharti, for socio-legal discourses and human rights. She has a life-membership of Akhil Bharteeya Gramya Vikas Evam Paryavaran Sanrakshan Sansthan, and Member, Board of Governors, Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, Lucknow, as a part of her interest in Community Services.
Her areas of interest includes: Constitutional Law, Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law, Criminal Law, Banking and Insurance Law, and Cultural Studies.
