The Journal Committee has been successfully publishing RMLNLU Journal, the annual flagship peer reviewed Journal of the University for the last many years along with RMLNLU Law Review, an annual, student edited law journal since 2010. These journals publish articles and research papers of contributors from all over the world on contemporary issues of law. The journal is published under the patronage of our Vice Chancellor- Prof. (Dr). Gurdip Singh.

Apart from the said law review, the Committee publishes a domain specific Journal: The RMLNLU Journal on CMET [Communication, Media, Entertainment and Technology]. The journal receives and publishes articles, book reviews, commentaries and notes on the said theme. Two volumes of this journal have already been published and received great appreciation from, both the students and the teaching fraternity.

International Legal Essay Competition

More recently, the Journal Committee has to its credit, four editions of its International Legal Essay Competition known by its acronym ‘RILEC’ or the RMLNLU International Legal Essay Competition. It began in 2013 with the theme of Space Law, and continued into its second edition in 2014 with the theme of International Criminal Law. The third edition was based on International Trade Law, while the fourth edition received entries from reputed national and international universities on International Taxation Law.

The Journal Committee’s Unique Initiative: The Eos

The Journal Committee is not limited to editing and publishing; it has actively involved itself in the process of the all round development of RMLNLU students as lawyers. And one of its initiatives in this regard, EOS, speaks for itself. The annual three-four day literary event is organised every year. It offers the students a chance to showcase their talents in the field of speaking, writing and ingenuity. The event is always met with great enthusiasm from the students and the teachers. The week is dotted by events like Quiz, Crossword, Judgement Writing, Spell Bee, Imperatoria, Turn-Coat, Devil’s Advocate, Room-mate Agreement and Treasure Hunt to name a few.

The committee also trains and educates the student fraternity by organizing legal writing workshops where, the ingredients of a good research paper, various citation styles and other legal writing techniques are taught and discussed.
Apart from this an intra- university essay competition ERUDITE is also organized by the committee, which has always witnessed an enthusiastic participation from students.

The annual event is organised every year, and is spread over an entire week. You are welcomed to witness its diverse activities: the main highlights of this event are:

Judgment Writing

This event witnesses mass participation from among the budding Judges who try their hand at the pen and the law: the students are put to the test of legal and creative acumen on a varied range of laws: from the law of torts and consumer protection to criminal law and the trending IPRs.

Here the lawyerly skills are tested: argue both sides on the same issue simultaneously. Thius event is more than a mere competition and makes the Debating Room appear more like a Speaking Skills Laboratory.

This puts to test the knowledge of the RML young guns: it is to see how much do they know outside the law treatises. And yes, they do prove their skills because every year, EOS witnesses a well deserved Winner Team.

Treasure Hunt

Attractive posters, clever clues, applauding crowd, and the sprawling RMLNLU campus: these three combine to give this event, which is the most entertaining. Treasure is what RML young guns run for, and ultimately realise the treasure they are for the RML family.

Legal Writing Workshops

The Journal Committee also organizes various Legal Writing Workshops in association with Westlaw where the students are explained how they should proceed with legal research. The students are provided valuable tips on putting their ideas in a logical and coherent manner
