After graduating from Allahabad University with a degree in commerce, Dr. Malay earned his LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, Delhi University. He completed his Master of Law from the Faculty of Law, Delhi University in 2013. He did his doctorate in Competition Law from Dr. RMLNLU in 2021, and his thesis is titled ‘Anti-Cartel Measures with Specific Reference to India.’
Before becoming a full-time faculty member at Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow, He practised law briefly at the Supreme Court of India and the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court.
His area of interest lies in Criminal Law, and he has taught the Indian Penal Code/Bhartiya Nyay Sanghita, criminology, penology, victimology, and white-collar crimes for more than seven years at Dr.RMLNLU.
Dr.Malay has participated in more than 30 national and international conferences/seminars and has eight published articles to his credit. Being an avid supporter of the cause of victims, he has also authored a book titled ‘Victims of Crime: Issues and Concerns’.
His administrative responsibilities at the University include being Member IQAC cell, Member Editorial Board RMLNLUJ(UGC-CARE), Warden of the UG Hostel, Local Coordinator for the prestigious GIAN-UGC initiative of the Ministry of Education, Nodal officer for the University for BPR&D training program, Co-Ordinator Placement Committee, Member Proctorial Board, anti-ragging Squad and Committee, Sports Committee and Legal Aid Committee among other administrative responsibilities.
