    Dr. Mridul has been awarded many scholarships like Janpad, Awasiya and Akikrit at the school level and a Junior and Senior Research Fellowship from the University Grants Commission for their Ph.D. In his career, he possesses the first division right from the beginning till the end.

    His Ph.D. work on "Social Work Intervention on Treatment and Rehabilitation of Convicts" has been appreciated not only by national experts but by more than 300 experts from 27 countries has given their valuable suggestions, and out of these, 50 experts from different countries like USA, U.K., Australia, Germany, Tasmania, Israel etc. has given their positive comments before submission of thesis. Prof. K. Minor of the University of Maryland, USA, has given the title "New Feather" to his Ph.D. research. His D.Litt. was on the topic "Impact of Reformation and Rehabilitation Schemes on the Treatment of Offenders. Some international scholars also praised his D.Litt. work.

    He has presented and published articles in various seminars, workshops and conferences. Till now, he has participated in more than 50 seminars, conferences and workshops and in more than 35 souvenir journals of national repute, his papers have been published. He is also the author of two books. His one book, "World Directory of Social Science Institutes", was published in March 2005, and another book, which is an outcome of his PhD research, titled "Interventions for Prison Reforms", was published in October 2006. He also wrote two chapters in a book, "Facets of Empowerment: Policies, Programmes and Perspective", and he co-authored a book titled "An Introduction to Social Research Methods". He also prepared a Workbook on Objective Questions for the UGC-NET examination in Criminology". Recently, two books, (i) Criminological Theories in a Nutshell and(ii) A Unique Combination of Glossary, Maxims and Quotations of Crime and Criminology, were published in 2010. His other Books like Reformation and Rehabilitation of Prisoners, Human Resource Planning of Prisoners, Manpower Planning of Prisoners, Pre-Mature Release of Prisoners, Socio-Legal Exposition of Crime Against Women, Criminology for Competition are few of the internationally accepted work and are available on academia and other platforms. Almost people of 30 countries in a week download his books.

    He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Research Journal of Philosophy and Social Sciences Journal, Executive Editor of the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University Journal, Editor of the Socio-Economics Perspective Journal, and Executive Editor of the International Journal of Social Studies. He is a member of the International Crime Science Network, the Indian Society of Criminology, the Western Society of Criminology, the Indian Networks of NGOs on HIV/AIDS, Amnesty International and The Indian Social Science Association.

    He has more than 24 years of combined experience in teaching, research, consultancy, project implementation, and training with central and state governments. Organizations, Private Organizations of national repute. He has completed 20 projects related to Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Tenure and Housing Rights, Prison Reforms, Organizational Climate, Customer satisfaction, Cost Effectiveness, and Manpower Needs Assessment. GVT-DFID supported project on "Inter-state Migrant Labour", UNDP supported project on "Examining the Informal Justice Systems in Madhya Pradesh" and "Access to Justice for Poor and Disadvantaged Groups" sponsored by High Court of Madhya Pradesh, prosecution System in the State of Uttar Pradesh sponsored by Government of Uttar Pradesh, manpower Planning for Convicts and Undertrials in Correctional Institutions of Uttar Pradesh sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi etc.

    During his working in the social development sector for such a long period he developed his interest in teaching, research, project formulation and implementation, training, and reporting in various fields like livelihood, HIV/AIDS, Prison Reforms, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Gender Issues, Education and Health, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Manpower Planning etc. His teaching and research interests include Criminology, Penology, Juvenile Justice, Socio-Economic Offences, Clinical Legal Education, Women and Children-related issues, and Conjugal Rights of Prisoners etc. presently, he is working on his dream project to study the Indian crime and punishment system, police, and prison administration before and during the British Period.

    Besides that, he is a PhD examiner at the University of KwaZulu Natal, Durban, South Africa. In 2018, he visited the University of KwaZulu Natal, Durban, South Africa, to review the criminology course in the capacity of an International Expert. He has had the opportunity to interact with the scholars of criminology in Dubai and Thailand many times. His books are in the South Africa Public Library, Dubai Public Library, and the Australian Institute of Criminology. He also widely traveled India as a Resource person for many training programmes and seminars. He is on the panel of U.G.C. Staff College and Jail Training Institute. He is also a member of several university committees and other institutions.
