Dr. Prasenjit Kundu is a distinguished faculty member of the university, specializing in Alternative Dispute Resolution, International Commercial Arbitration, Labour Law and International Dispute Resolution Mechanism. Dr Prasenjit holds both LL.B. and LL.M from University of North Bengal, located in the picturesque district of Darjeeling, West Bengal. After completing his LLM, Dr Prasenjit joined Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh and his short tenure at Hidayatullah National Law University allowed him to gain valuable experience in legal education and foster a passion for teaching. With a robust academic background and extensive experience in the legal field, Dr Prasenjit is committed to fostering an engaging and comprehensive legal environment. He believes in an interactive teaching approach, encouraging discussions that bridge theoretical knowledge with real world applications in the field of law.
Dr. Prasenjit holds a Doctoral Degree with a focus on international commercial arbitration. His Doctoral Thesis, titled “International Commercial Arbitration: The Challenges and Prospects with Special Reference to India” explores the intricate dynamics of arbitration in the international arena, particularly emphasizing the unique challenges faced in the Indian context.
Dr. Prasenjit has contributed significantly to the academic community with numerous publications in various reputed UGC Care listed journals. His insights are frequently sought in academic and professional circles, where he shares his experience on arbitration practices, legislative reforms and implications of global trends for Indian law. As an experienced educator, Dr Prasenjit delivers lectures at various National and State institutes, sharing knowledge and insights with a broader audience.
Dr. Prasenjit takes on significant responsibilities within the university, serving as the Coordinator and Chairperson of various committees of the university, viz, Moot Court Committee, Debate and Discussion Committee, Journal Committee, Legal Aid Committee. At present he serves as the coordinator of the Committee to organize Seminar, Workshops, Extra-Murals and Special Lectures. He is the Executive Editor of the UGC CARE listed RMLNLU Journal and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the high quality research and scholarship to the scholarly publishing landscape of the university. Dr Prasenjit also contributes to the field of legal education through his extensive involvement as a judge in various Moot Court competitions.
In the Administrative capacity, Dr Prasenjit is presently serves as the Warden, PG Boys Hostel and plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations and the management of the hostel facilities and is responsible in providing a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all the residents of the PG Boys’ hostel of the campus.
In addition to his academic and administrative engagements, Dr Prasenjit is actively engaged with the Art of Living Organization, contributing to its mission of personal development and community services.
