He joined Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU), Lucknow, in 2009 as a full-time faculty member. With 16 years of teaching experience, he has taught at both postgraduate (LL.M.) and undergraduate (LL.B. Hons.) levels. Alongside his teaching responsibilities, he manages several key academic and administrative roles at the university. He previously served as the warden of the UG and PG Boys' Hostels and was a member of the university's Academic Council. From 2019 to 2022, he served as a Proctor, and since April 2024, he has been serving his second term in the same role. On September 13, 2024, he was appointed Warden in Chief of the university.
In 2015, he earned a Ph.D. in Law from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (a Central University) in Lucknow. Before that, he completed his B.A., LL.B., and LL.M. degrees from the University of Lucknow and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Management of Human Resource Development (PGDMHRD) in 2007 from the same university. He qualified for the UGC-NET in June 2006 and was awarded the Rajeev Gandhi National Fellowship by UGC in 2007. Additionally, he completed an online certificate course in Health Law, Policy, and Advocacy from Doane University, Nebraska, USA.
He is the author of two books: Alternative Sexuality, Morality, and Law (Mittal Publications, New Delhi) and an edited volume titled Emerging Issues in Law & Justice from the Perspective of Globalization (published by Dr. RMLNLU, Lucknow). His research has been widely published in prestigious journals, including Scopus-indexed and UGC-recommended ones. He has presented papers at numerous national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposiums. Furthermore, he has actively participated in various orientation, refresher, and faculty development programs organized by different universities and law institutes.
As an Observer for various national-level exams, he has collaborated with the National Testing Agency (NTA), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and the CLAT Consortium. He also serves as an external examiner and expert for several renowned universities. Between 2020 and 2021, he participated as a Mentor in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs' GOAL (Going Online as Leaders) program.
In 2019, he was appointed Chairperson of the Committee for organizing Seminars, Workshops, Extramural, and Special Lectures at RMLNLU. He has delivered numerous guest lectures on various legal topics in institutes, training programs, and workshops as a resource person.
He is a Life Member of the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, and the All-India Law Teachers Congress, as well as an Associate Member of the Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi. His areas of specialization include Criminal Law, with academic interests in Conflict of Laws, Criminal Justice Administration, Criminal Justice, and Human Rights, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (Criminal Procedure), International Criminal Law, Corporate Crimes, Juvenile Justice, and Health and Medicine Law.
